All three maps were needed for ATK in their extremely close series against Gaimin Gladiators in ESL Challenger League Season 41. On the third map of Ancient Michael 'Swisher' Schmid showed what he is really made of.

In a crucial round where ATK were completely starved for cash, 'Swisher' stepped up to the plate in a 2v3. With great "trigger discipline" and extremely crisp aim the 23-year-old managed to catch the Gaimin Gladiators in rotation, and single-handedly secure this pivotal round.

The North Americans from ATK were given a hard task last night. As a last-minute replacement team the two Americans, two South Africans, and one Swede on the team had to face FURIA in the opening round of the single-elimination tournament, BLAST Premier Spring Showdown NA.

The match ended as expected with a clear 2-0 win for FURIA. But during the map of Inferno, it was Michael 'Swisher' Schmid from ATK that stole the headlines.

In a 1vs4 situation, the American player suddenly found himself completely alone on the A-bomb site, while all the remaining FURIA players had gone out to hunt him down. He was so alone, that he pulled through a 10-second defuse to win the round.

FURIA will play fellow Brazilians from GODSENT tomorrow at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.

There was only one question left to be answered in Group A at ESL Pro League Season 14. Would Astralis or ENCE secure a spot in the playoffs?

ENCE could do the business themselves with a win against Bad News Bears, who were yet to win a single map during the four matches they had played at the tournament. It didn't change today.

It did not take ENCE a long time to take full control of the match. On Overpass they took a commanding 13-2 lead at halftime killing all suspense about the outcome of that map.

Fortunately, we got a much better map on Nuke. Here BNB and especially Michael 'Swisher' Schmid showed some of that talent, that had sent the NA team to Europe to compete. The 22-year-old American kept the Bears in the match dropping incredible 31 kills during the match. But it wasn't enough for BNB, who could see ENCE turn the heat up in the last rounds and secure a spot in the playoffs at ESL Pro League with Joonas 'doto' Forss in the spotlight after a solid performance equaling Swisher's 31 kills.

Bad News Bears leaves the tournament without a win.

Bad News Bears

Bad News Bears haven't had a perfect start at ESL Pro League Season 14 so far, with the North Americans have lost their two first matches against Heroic and Vitality in Group A. Despite the slow start, some of the individuals have shown glimpses of their great talents. At one time in yesterday's matchup against ZywOo and the rest of Vitality, Michael '"Swisher" Schmid managed to hold the entire A-bombsite on Inferno by himself, resulting in this beautiful ace.
