Last night in Melbourne, Movistar Riders won their first big LAN tournament in history with a 2-0 victory against Bad News Eagles.

The Spaniards took home $50.000 and an invitation to ESL Pro League Season 18. The Grand Final was a repeat of the Group Final earlier in the tournament, where Movistar Riders also defeated Bad News Eagles.

Alejandro 'alex' Masanet, Antonio 'Martinez' Martinez, and Alejandro 'mopoz' Fernández-Quejo Cano ended the tournament on the top of the individual rankings to underline the Spanish dominance in Melbourne.

Before this week Antonio “Martinez” Martinez had played against ZERO Top 50 teams in his short career. It was therefore a true baptism by fire, the Spanish AWPer experienced when he and his new team Movistar Riders took on Liquid at ESL Pro League Season 16.

Many upcomers and talents need some time to adapt to tier-1 CS:GO - however, that doesn’t seem to be a problem for Movistar Riders’ new acquisition. Just look at his numbers from the Liquid match from Wednesday, where he completely out-AWPed Josh “oSee” Ohm.

Alvaro "Sunpayus" Garcia's transfer to ENCE left a spot open for Martinez

Movistar Rider has announced their replacement for SunPayus by signing Antonio "MartinezSa" Sánchez. The spot was left open after Movistar Riders announced on August 11th that the Spanish AWPer will part ways with Movistar after some impressive results such as winning ESL Challenger Valencia and a semi-final spot at IEM Cologne. Movistar Riders will hope to have MarinezSa ready and set for ESL Pro Leauge Season 16 which is in late September. 

How good MartinezSa is, is yet to be seen. But for now, he is averaging 0.83 rating, and 0.64 kills per round in the past three months playing for VELOX. VELOX just lost two of their main players and one of them was MartinezSa. Their current rank is 193 on the HLTV world list.

When playing Counter-Strike there' are not many things more satisfying than hitting a headshot with your Desert Eagle in hand. Then imagine hitting five consecutive in one round, completing the near-perfect ace.
