Rassim “Jyo” Valijev departs the Belarusian organization Nemiga Gaming after having represented the team since October 2018. The Estonian rifler reached a total of 1042 maps under the Nemiga banner with a 2nd place at IEM New York CIS from 2022 being his best result with the team.

The Baltic States do not hold a big and significant CS:GO history with the European region playing a minor factor in the tale of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. However, that might seem to change due to the prevailing and impressive pool of talents emerging out on the big stage, coming from the North-East corner of Europe.

The other day, Nemiga and the Portuguese team sAw met in the opening round of DreamHack Open December. The highlight player was Nemiga’s rifler, Rassim “Jyo” Valijev. The Estonian player was unstoppable on the first map of Dust2, where he managed to grab not one but two aces.

Not many would have thought going into the tournament that the two final competitors at IEM New York CIS will be Virtus.pro and Nemiga, in front of strong and heavy equipped teams like NAVI, forZe and Spirit. Nonetheless, is VP- Nemiga, the exact matchup for today’s grand final.

Nemiga has had a surprisingly good campaign, taken down a number of strong opponents on their way to the final, by only losing 4 out of 15 maps throughout the entire tournament. The Belarusian team produced a very good playoff run with first a 2-0 win against forZe in the quarter final, followed by an also very confident and strong victory over a well-playing Spirit team in the semi final.

They will play a very strong Virtus.pro side who hasn’t lost a game going into the final. The VP team has cruised through every obstacle at their way, dropping only two maps in the process. Yesterday, they defeated the #5 in the world and the strong favourites NAVI consisting of stars like s1mple, electronic and perfecto.
