Marcelo "coldzera" David and 00Nation are one of the Brazilian teams at IEM Rio with huge expectations on their shoulders playing in front of a very active and loud home crowd.

In their opening match against Bad News Eagles, it did not start well for 00Nation. The roster had big problems on their T-side. With only three rounds won in the first half, there was a mountain to climb in the second half. And suddenly the loud crowd was almost silent, which indicated the bad times for 00Nation. The second half was quickly over with Bad News Eagles winning all the rounds to cement their superiority during the match.

00Nation will have to do better tonight in the second round of the Challengers Stage to avoid playing an early elimination match tomorrow.

Bad News Eagles and ECSTATIC took to the server for a chance to go to the semi-final at Pinnacle Cup IV. On paper, the Eagles were the favorites but ECSTATIC proved themselves in a big way.

ECSTATIC took the opening pistol round of the Eagles' pick of Dust2. The fun didn't last long though, as BNE only allowed them to take three more rounds throughout the entire game. It was almost not surprising that ECSTATIC only managed to take four rounds, seeing as "juanflatroo" and "sinnopsyy" were absolutely devastating them.

The second map of Vertigo was somehow even more one-sided than Dust2, but this time it was ECSTATIC who did the damage. "birdfromsky" started out very hot, and was soon accompanied by star player "FASHR" who played lights-out throughout the entire game. Noone from the Eagles really found their usual high individual level, which resulted in one measly round at the end of the map.

After that devastating loss on Vertigo, "juanflatroo" was once again ready to take the heads off of the ECSTATIC players. He led them to a 6-1 T side start, but suddenly they had their momentum broken by back-to-back aces, first from "XELLOW" and then from "FASHR". ECSTATIC pulled some rounds back before the break but were definitely not happy as they were down by one round at halftime.

After being down at the half, ECSTATIC pulled a rabbit out of the hat and started the second half with a six-round streak. They kept up the good play and by way of some great calls and "FASHR" doing what he does best, ECSTATIC took down the Eagles while only allowing them 4 CT rounds.

ENCE secured their spot at the Legends Stage after beating up the Kosovars of Bad News Eagles. ENCE were the massive favorites but it was not all fun and games for "Snappi" and co.

The brawl began on bNE's pick of Dust2, and early on, they were taught a lesson. ENCE, spearheaded by their leader "Snappi", outclassed the Kosovars in all aspects of the game. The only thing the Eagles had going for them was their impeccable aim, but that only got them three rounds in the first round.

After switching sides, the bNE squad had a massive resurgence. "gxx-" had come alive on the AWP and, in combination with "juanflatroo", and "rigoN", saw to it that the Eagles quickly equalized at 13-13. But the favorites of ENCE managed to come up clutch at the last moments of the map and steal the last three rounds away, and thereby the map.

bNE, on the CT side, found a good amount of success in the early stages of the second map of Nuke. "juanflatroo" was removing any attacker that came his way without exception. But with all of his teammates lagging behind individually, ENCE took the first half win at 9-6.

The Eagles won the second-half pistol round but did not find much more than that against the well-coordinated defense of ENCE.

Bad News Eagles will have another chance to qualify for the Legends Stage tomorrow, while ENCE can now relax.

The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown consists of a Bo3 single-elimination bracket, which means that every match is life or death. The winner will take one of the remaining two spots at BLAST Premier Spring Final 2022.

Here we give you a run-through of the teams, that we have placed in different brackets; Favorites, Contenders, and Outsiders.

 is the only team to be featured in the favorites category because that is exactly what they are: The favorites. Heroic has consistently been a top ten team for more than a year now, and most recently they secured Legends status at the PGL Major Antwerp by beating Na'Vi and going undefeated at the RMR. Heroic is on paper the best team right now.

Player to watch: {cflag:DK} Martin "stavn" Lund has been delivering at a superstar level in 2022 where he rates as the third-best player in the world. The 20-year-old star rifler is the key to success for Heroic.

started the year slowly with a disappointing result at IEM Katowice but has slowly gotten better and better. The addition of "Maden" has made them a force to be reckoned with which they showed with a great performance at ESL Pro League. ENCE are looking good but they still need a bit more consistency to become a favorite.

Player to watch: {cflag:IL} Lotan "Spinx" Giladi is the x-factor for ENCE. He is what they need to take down the best of the best, as he has shown that he can outperform ANYONE if he gets in the zone.

's performance as of late has surprised no one. They have done some good work but can never really seem to finish the job. The addition of "Brollan", who is considered by many to be the best Swedish player, has elevated the squad and given them hope for the future.

Player to watch: {cflag:DK} Patrick "es3tag" Hansen, the jack of all trades, has taken up the role as the team's main AWP'er, and he will have to perform consistently for the Ninjas to win.

 just barely qualified for the major after taking down HEET. After acquiring "Farlig", the four-time Major-winning organization has looked a lot more dangerous, and they have an incredibly high skill ceiling. When everything is flowing for the Danes they can take down anyone, but they often have trouble delivering consistently over a series or tournament.

Player to watch: {cflag:DK} Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke needs to become the walking death-machine that he was when he first joined Astralis. When he is ON his impact can be felt around the world.

come into this tournament with something to prove. The Spanish squad went 5-0 in the Group Stage of ESL Pro League taking down teams such as BIG, Players (Cloud9), and Liquid, but fell short as soon as they hit the playoffs. This is their opportunity for revenge!

Player to watch: {cflag:ES} Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia has consistently been the best performing Spanish player, and he is definitely one to look out for!

has had the same roster for nearly a year now and the results they have shown have been very varied. The team recently secured Legends status at PGL Major Antwerp by going undefeated at the RMR, but just a month prior they lost a Bo3 against the relatively unknown team Bluejays. When they play their best game they can take down even the giants, but the lack of consistency makes it very hard to place this young Danish squad at the very top.

Player to watch: {cflag:DK} Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard is the future of the Flames and has shown that he has superstar potential. He finished the Europe RMR with a rating of 1.40, edging out players such as "sh1ro" and "NiKo".

 recently made history when they qualified for the upcoming Major, but they will have to perform at an even higher level to take the Spring Final spot. The Kosovar team has performed at a good level in 2022 and has won the majority of their matches, but they have yet to actually beat a tier 1 team. They will have to do something spectacular to win an event with such a high percentage of great teams.

Player to watch: Flatron "juanflatroo" Halimi is the most explosive player the Eagles have available, and he will have to play at his absolute top level if the Kosovars are to succeed in their quest.

 is a very unknown quantity. The Asian-based team is currently ranked #99 in the world and has yet to be tested against the European scene. NKT are definitely the underdogs, but what it would be if they won!

Player to watch: {cflag:MN} Gan-Erdene "dobu" Batbold has performed admirably over the last three months where he averages a 1.20 rating. "dobu" has shown moments of explosive and electric plays, and will have to continue to do so to carry his team who he has only played with for two months.

A huge celebration was in order after Bad News Eagles secured their spot at the Antwerp Major with a 2-1 win against SINNERS.

The Balkan team has been one of the positive surprises at the European RMR event and could complete their journey with a qualification for the upcoming Major. The only team that stood in their way was SINNERS. The Czech team had taken down Spirit and HEET at the tournament and was also looking to represent their home country in the biggest CS:GO tournament on the calendar.

The match started upside down. On BNE’s map pick, it was SINNERS who were the better team. The Czechs won both halves to take don Mirage 16-10. On Nuke it was the other way around. Bad News Eagles played a perfect CT-half and dominated their opponents leading 12-3 at the break before converting it to a 16-6 map win.

The mother of all decider maps, Inferno was left as the ultimate decider for the most important match of all ten players on the server, who had never attended a Major before. And Inferno delivered! Right from the get-go, it was a back and forth game of Counter-Strike. SINNERS took a 9-6 lead at the break, but could not hold on to the lead in the second half. Bad News Eagles grinded their way back into the match and made history with a 16-14 victory on Inferno to secure a win and qualification for the Major in Antwerp!

Bad News Eagles eliminated ASG from the Europe RMR, as they took them down 2-0. The first map of Vertigo, which was the pick of the Eagles, was an absolute slaughter. 25-year-old Flatron "juanflatroo" Halimi was really feeling it on the skyscraper, especially in round 14 where he eviscerated almost the entire enemy team.

The Albanian star from BLINK Flatron “juanflatroo” Halimi delivered a fantastic play in a fantastic game for him personally, the team ended up winning the game 2-1 against a strong SAW side.

juanflatroo didn’t manage to get himself the MVP award from the match as Tiago “JUST” Moura played a fantastic game for SAW, but the Portuguese player couldn’t prevent BLINK from winning.

The star from BLINK delivered a fantastic game on Inferno, in the final map, where it seemed to be a match between him and JUST, but with help from teammate Sener “SENER1” Mahmuti, they managed to take the win from JUST and SAW!
